Graduate Certificate in Post-Secondary Teaching Curriculum & Admission Requirements
Program structure
Coursework
The certificate consists of one course from each of four course areas: fundamentals of college teaching, college student development, digital pedagogy, and approved electives. Coursework will draw on research on effective teaching from the disciplines of education, psychology and instructional design in order to inform educational pedagogy.
Course Requirements
This is a 12 credit hour certificate, open only to current KU students, consisting of 4 courses:
1.) A course in fundamentals of college teaching

*A discipline-specific pedagogy course
*A course in adult learning or cognition
Graduate Admission
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Meeting minimum admission standards does not guarantee admission to the program.
