The Development & Learning (D&L) subplan prepares students for work as research scientists in education psychology.

Career Outcomes in Educational Psychology & Research

Students pursue the Ph.D. in educational psychology & research at KU with varying career goals in mind. Graduates of the Development & Learning (D&L) subplan work in a variety of settings, but most commonly seek faculty positions in higher education.

Special note:

The Sport & Exercise Psychology subplan, formerly housed in the Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences Department, is moving to EPSY. In the interim, Sport & Exercise Psychology doctoral applicants should apply to the Educational Psychology and Research PhD program, Development & Learning (D&L) subplan and note your interest in the SEP subplan in your statement or an email to fritts@ku.edu. The curriculum is available, and we are happy to consider you for admission. Once the SEP doctoral program is set up, your subplan will be updated in the system.
